VP Slot for Hillary or We Write Her IN

Our beloved candidate has been shunned so many times by both the Democratic establishment and has been so disrespected by so many of Sen. Obama's surrogates and supporters.  Although Hillary has asked us to support Sen. Obama but to show our strength of "Eighteen million cracks" of the glass ceiling We should:  Sign Lanny Davis' Hillary Clinton for VP Blog.  If our candidate Sen. Clinton is not offered the VP slot then we should write her in on the ballot in November instead of voting for McCain.

Exactly - trying to extort the VP slot is a moronic move.

There IS a third choice... (2.00 / 1)

The diarist writes: "If our candidate Sen. Clinton is not offered the VP slot then we should write her in on the ballot in November instead of voting for McCain."

Instead of voting for John McCain (truly a wrong thing to do) OR writing Mrs. Clinton's name in, there is a third choice:

Respect Hillary Clinton's request that you join her in supporting Barack Obama and doing all that you can to get him elected in November.

This nation needs more than a McCain presidency.

Re: VP Slot for Hillary or We Write Her IN (2.00 / 4)

Ive been the most ardent and toughest Hillary supporter. I've spent my life arguing on Kos with Obama supporters. Ok? My creds.

Hillary was a victim of sexism and a bad media, and should have been the nominee. But she's not.

The world has a funny way of working. Destiny, I think. I tell you this: Her day will come. I don't know when or in what realm, but she has made a mark and impressed everyone.

For the moment it's Obama's game and we have to hope he wins. Yes, I want her as VP, but if she's not, there are some other great Dems.

You've got to have faith that through this abuse, she's got a great future, with or without the VP.

These folks just don't get it, tim2842. Yes, it's been discussed a million times, but it's essentially true.  Sandbag it all you like, but enough Hillary supporters will either hand write her in, sit out, or some will vote McCain. I've stated the reasons numerous times. I'm not a troll. Overconfidence in "The Candidate" and downplaying other other candidate are nice little fronts, and funny boy shenanigans, but pretend all you like, this is an issue that's not going away. Many of the other bloggers are finding new homes, so please don't misperceive the silence as anything more than that.

I for one would like to see the VP go back to ribbon cutting and funeral attending.  There are far more valuable places to put our Democratic lioness than that sad shelf.  She needs to be somewhere she can fight for us.  I though AG but I dont know if she really wants to be a lawyer.  Maybe a beefed up health education and welfare, or do we even know what she wants?

Re: VP Slot for Hillary or We Write Her IN (2.00 / 0)

People are going to do what they're going to do, but I find it a bit amazing that there are people who seem to think if Obama loses because a couple of million voters wrote in Hillary's name that wouldn't trash her prospects in 2012.  For those who have forgotten, Nader didn't get a lot of love after 2000.

Re: VP Slot for Hillary or We Write Her IN (1.00 / 1)

The caucus turnout represented 4.5% voters whereas primary turnout represented 19.92 voters. Obama won 12 of the 13 caucus states and gained more delegates than Hillary who won more primary states. Google P.Cronin/Caucus vs Primaries and see who is the illegitimate choice of the DNC.

By not voting for the president of this ill gotten nomination, the DNC will learn to play fair. (Maybe).

Re: VP Slot for Hillary or We Write Her IN (none / 0)

now, now, I admit that Hillary would make half the voters as happy as the other half, but she says although she'd take it for party unity and to help out more, she doesn't expect it and she wants all of us to vote for him. Remember there is a war that needs to be stopped.  Although if you mean this as advice, to help Barack win over those he may not be able to without her, and you're just wanting him to win, then it's okay, but if he doesn't ask Hillary we still need to vote for him, remember?
